Off Maya and foodie

The only physical exercise done ever since jadi full time housewife nie is walking to town center,1km from home.Itu pon kadang malas,i naik bus/tram.So encik hubby rase bini die nie kene exercise sket sebelum jadi malas ;p. I do not want to jog in the freezing weather,so he got me a new friend-Maya!Meet Maya,my Wii fitness Coach hihi.I've been skinny forever so gaining a few pounds isn't something to worry about.But dok kat rumah 24 hrs a day somehow makes me inert and sluggish.Tgk berapa lama i tahan dgn Maya nie yer,awal2 mmg la semangat ;p
Btw,few days back when we called MIL,die ckp tgh tgk Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak?ade yer cerita tue? I tak nak google,nanti keluar gambar hantu takot pulak.Last week when hubby was writing a formal letter to MARA,ade la ayat "disertakan lampiran ....bla bla" then he asked if i know Lampir tue apa kan,i ckp tak tahu,die google then tunjuk....waaaa scaryyy,p.So tell me,this belakang congkak cerita hantu lawak like zombi kg dusun ker?
ok our food for the past 2 days.i still owe the cinnamon rolls recipe,sat naa.Baru belajar buat cake,so i started with the simple ones, both recipes amik from tiffinbiru. Slice cheese cake tue kan,tak kembang plak huhu,hubby ckp kueh bakar ke ni?eiiiii..gigit karang.

Paris (Part 2)

I was organizing the photo folders when i came to the Paris album.Baru ingat tak sambung2 part 2 ;p.1st part posted in Summer,2nd part comes in Winter ;p Nama tempat pon dah lupa,kene refer travel guide balik.Balik Msia nanti baru la kecoh nak ingat balik,so before lupe,baik post kat sini kan?

2nd day:Started off the day with breakfast by the Eiffel.Hot choc for everyone except hubby.
Second stop was Hotel des Invalides, built to accommodate disable war veterans.The Dome is actually the Royal Chapel which houses the tombs of a number of Royal family member and military leaders.Next was the La Defense.I always always prefer buses than subways tapi kat Paris nie susah nya nak bace bus map die bluwekkk.So amik subway jer la.La Defense is the high-rise office district,mostly in Modernist style.In the central of Paris,the height of the building is limited as not to obstruct the view of the Eiffel,so only towards the end of this district were towers allowed.Looking at the map,this La Defense,Arc de Triomphe,Champs-Elysees(the shopping street),Palace de La Concorde and Lourve are actually along the same street .But,unless you are ready to walk for 2km(if not more) from the La Defense to the Place Charles de Gaulle(Arc de Triomphe),just take the subway/cab/bus or whatever hehe.

Grabbed sandwiches for lunch,then we were ready to stroll along the Champs-Elysees.No damage at all tau hehe.Things are damn expensive here,i would rather shop in London,full stop.

LV anyone?
Lepas tue balik hotel for solat then to Notre Dame again to get some more souvenirs.If i'm not mistaken,souvenir stores paling byk kat sini kot,but i can't guarantee if they are the cheapest.Stopped by Hotel de Ville,there's a big screen for the Rolland Garros at the esplanade,so hubby nak layan kejap.

Our last stop for the day was the Place du Trocadero,my sister wanted to have the famous Crepes while enjoying the view of the Eiffel
Ok,everytime naik metro pon kitorang rasa kelakar la train nie ade tayar ;p but the entrance to the metro is unique,kan?3rd day: Ingatkan nak pegi this flea market( lupa nama and malas nak check balik) tapi bila sampai,tutup pulak. Nasib Sacre-Couer is only 2 stops away. You can choose to either climb up Montmartre Hill or take the cable car,we tried both sebab i tatau ade cable car huhu;p The view from the steps up to the basilica is spectacular but the eiffel is not in the frame.I believe this basilica was built way before the eiffel,which is on the other side of the hill.Hubby needed to catch the 2pm TGV back to Augsburg, so we ran down the hill for lunch(yeay ade kebab!),stopped by the Moulin Rouge,snap snap then hantar hubby at Gare de Est.Our Euro star departed from Gare du Nord @3pmSo the trip was not bad after all,but it would be nicer if there's someone who know French with us.Believe me,nobody care if you know English in this city.Penat tauu bersign language nie hehe.

Mr Cinnabon pulak

Salam All,
How's your weekend?I dpt best friend baru,thanks to hubby hehe.I'll introduce her in the next entry.Cinnamon roll ni, hubby buat.Me?i just helped with the easiest part- spread the dough with butter then sprinkle the cinnamon mixture hihi.Dah byk kali jugak la hubby buat nie,sebab isteri x pandai.Our favorite from Cinnabon is the Caramel Pecanbon,superb!Tapi kat rumah,we (eh hubby;p) just settle with the classic cinnamon roll.The only ingredient missing in the recipe is the Makara Cinnamon,tak jumpa2.Dah tanya Cinnabon kat London hari tue,tapi tak ade,Cinnabon US jer jual huhu dulu 4 yrs kat US tak layan Cinnabon sapa suruh kan?And the rest of the food,dah lupa dinner hari ape.Simple je sebab busy tgk Ugly Betty.Time rajin,amik la gambar ;p

Prepared by hubby this morning.
Nope,no breakfast in bed,i'm a messy eater,tumpah marmalade tue satu hal pulak.And this is actually hubby's plate.I was already full when this photo was taken sebab i makan sambil hubby masak hihi,bagus tak?Dulu kat Purdue selalu lunch dgn pancakes with maple syrup. Tapi i pemalas,mane penah prepared batter sendiri,pakai instant yg beli kat Walmart jer ;p

Snow snow go away!

hmm hubby has been asking kenapa tak update neh.Wifey is busy catching up tv series lah.Sekarang i'm hooked with ugly betty pulak hihi.okla,sebenarnya tak ade idea nak blog apa.The cold weather does not help either,who would have expected snow in the the middle of October hmmm.Nak masak ape pon tade idea huhu,masih tgh puasa(org lain dah lama raya kan?)Tapi best puasa sekarang,Fajr is at 550am,berbuka nya at 625pm ;p

Spaghetti Pepperoncino

Credit to ida,mama aiman for the recipe,ami tambah chicken cube je sket.Super easy!Hubby kan hantu ayam,so for him,i substitute the half boiled egg with some grilled chicken breast(marinated with:olive oil,garlic powder,paprika powder,pepper,italian herbs,pinch of salt)

INGREDIENTS
1.Spaghetti-boiled and drained
2.Garlic-crushed
3.Green chillies/bell pepper-sliced thin
4.Olive oil
5.1/4 Cube ayam maggi
6.Italian seasoning
7.Vegetables (carrots,mushrooms,as you please)
8.Pepper and salt to taste

DIRECTIONS
Cook the garlic,bell pepper/chillies in the olive oil until they soften.Add the italian seasoning,vegetables,chicken cube,salt and pepper(basically everything hah!) and stir until the vegetables are tender.Add in the spaghetti,mix well and cook for another min,done.Top with the half boiled eggs/grilled chicken.

For those who smoke!

Is it still consider cool to smoke these days?I think it's NOT!!and gosh,it stinks badly!
And as been mentioned for the gazillion number of times,those who smoke definitely jeopardizing their health.Watch out this video!

I've been busy catching up the new seasons of Gossip Girls and Desperate Housewives,sungguh tertinggal bus yer =p.I'm glad the bride was Susan,not Katherine.And Tyra Banks mmg nampak macam acting in a scary movie,terkejut mak!Anyway,sebab busy tgk series,semlm goreng nasi and buat tomyam jer huhu.Hubby puasa hari ne,so definitely not nasi goreng lagi lah.terjumpa instant tandoori,ecece,which is expiring soon,so guna saja lah.Rindunya tandoori @ Kapitan Restaurant,Lebuh Chulia.Hubs tak nak nasi(yeay less cooking!),so we have it with roti turkey yg dibeli di kedai turkey.Hubby ckp they call it Fladenbrot,whatever that means,i love it,boleh buat snack hihi.And org puasa mintak daal,so for the first time isteri yg tak suka daal nie masak Varan(Indian Daal).Esok baru nak start puasa 6 terkedek2.

Lebkuchenherz

The Oktoberfest has just started.Obviously i do not care about the beers and all the Bavarian fares but the souvenirs are unique and eye catching.Drindl dress is surely charming tapi i have something better to spend on for Euro100.Beer mug is not cheap either.Another typical but way cheaper treat sold during this festival is the LebkuchenHerz,which people buy for their love ones,so i asked hubs to get me one hihi. The Dindl dress and beautifully decorated Lebkuechenherz-images from google.

In DE,these cookies are offered year round and comes in many shapes.I remember bringing back these Lebkuechen to my family but none of them like it except my ayah kot hahaha. Eh i tak bawak balik yg heart shape nie.The ones baked for Christmas are not this fancy,simple je.The taste resembles gingerbread.I think it's too pretty to be eaten,so i just hang it on the wall.Typical statement on the cookies says i love you or something similar,mine means "For my sweetheart" :p It comes with ribbon so that the happy recipient(including ME!) can wear it around the neck,funny eh?

Diary of a Housewife: Weekend 1

Salam all, How's your weekend?Byk open house?
Mine was awesome!We invited friends to come over for makan2 on saturday and lepak @ home main Wii on sunday.Whoot,gambar food lupe nak amik .What's on the menu?Yours truly and hubs buat nasik lemak sambal sotong,mee kari,brownies and onde-ondeout of nowhere.Tak pernah buat onde-onde nie,tapi nampak tepung pulut,belasah lah.Kawan2 bawa cheese cake,puding roti,kuih raya,cucur,popia otak2 and drinks.Rumah kecil,and there're like 25 of us,nak main Wii tennis tak dpt lah,habis pukul muka org nanti.They played this card game called "Wolf" or sth,i masuk satu round je sebab dah latak pandai,buat kacau pulak hehe. Owh hubs tak suke la weekend nie kot.He's quite devastated with the Reds.Sorry dear,i dont do football.Tak ade idea how to cheer him up,saya geletek jer hubby,sib baik tak kene karate yer?:p Ok,cerita food lah. Enough of makanan berlemak and bersantan,we just had this simple mee soup for dinner tadi.Notice sambal kicap yg seciput tue?got it from a friend,seriously sedap sambal tue, tapi i takot nak letak byk,pedas yarabbi hubs ckp huhu. Esok dah Monday =( I hate Mondays!!Not that i have to face another work week,but Monday means another 5 days of staying home alone from 10am-4pm!I should start my new project soon,at least tak ade bosan sgt,and tade la asik YM hubby every 5 mins :p

Domestic Engineering 101 lol

We have safely arrived in DE semlm.sempat berCOSTA @ Heathrow Terminal 1 with friends who came to send us off semlm.I'll be missing COSTA coffee and Pret's sandwiches and Ben's cookies and a whole lot of things there,hopefully murah rezeki kami dtg lagi.Tapiii to live there and to go just for cuti2 adalah tak sama,totally different feel!Tapi Hubs rimas naik train semput and dumping everything into a single bin kat London,tak umweltfreundlich langsung kata die:p Over here,everything is separated and recycled,even the milk cartons.When we boarded the express train from Marylebone to Uxbridge,hubs ckp "u call this an express rail?" gigit kang mohammad harith neh.

So, i have just enrolled into this new course: Domestic Engineering kehkeh.This is not my first time,i stayed home for a few months before the MSc started last October.But...i believe my syllabus is better kali nie,hopefully semua jalan.Last year keje saya was tido and makan aka housewife yg terlebih lemak ;p.This time,hopefully hubs gets to eat more decent food,rumah makin kurang habuk and baju berlipat instead of hanging jer dlm closet(did i mention i hate folding clothes?;p)Hihi see,i'm no domestic goddess,but it's never too late to try to be one kan?

Eh ok2,gtg.
Daily blogging is limited to just an hour.It's almost noon.luggage semlm tak kemaskan lagi,potong 10 marks!

It's been a while eh since my last update.Sgt busy,what's with the dissertation,raya and packing.Tapi the first two dah siap,tinggal lagi nak packing and shopping pulak.

Celebrating Eid in London was not that bad,our 4th raya,tapi baru 2nd time celebrate sama2.
So,pagi raya to High Commission,Belgrave Square for Solat Raya,1o mins away from home,sib baik!Ade tv3,penat kami posing,tapi tak masuk Buletin Utama pon huhu,over acted kot ye =p After solat,ajak friends to come over,mkn sket,lepak2,main cards,main Wii and solat zohor before heading to our duta's open house.

So that was the first day of Syawal,came monday,habis kaki tangan tercabut because my first draft needed tons of amendments =( I could not have made it without hub's help and support.Oooo on Friday, the submission day kan,we both slept for only 3 hrs,tapi x rasa mengantok langsung sebab i was damn excited it was over =p Tanye hubs,kat mana nak dinner,konon to celebrate la kan.Tapi die ckp nak mkn isteri masak lah!Nampak sgt dah berapa hari i tak masak proper dinner hahaha,sorry abg :p

So,that's it, I'm moving out this Wednesday,sedih pulak.
Except for the expensive house rental(in central),London is really really a nice place to live in kehkeh.
Our 2-bedrooms flat is priced at GBP350/week,i wish i could have saved more for shopping and whatnot,tapi being close to the school adalah sgt convenient,so pejam mata lah.
No more bus sekolah 345/49 or quick escapes to the Oxford St or Knightsbridge after few hours of stressing Cadence and TCAD labs lah lepas nie sob sob.Hubs,boleh tak nak dtg mase boxing day nanti?:pI guess this is my final post from Parkgate Road,London.

I dropped by MARA office earlier today, nak hantar claim akhir pengajian,thesis and air ticket. The officer tanya" How long have u been married?Belum ade baby kan?" When i said 3 and aah,not yet,terus die ckp okla tak payah balik Msia terus,pegi la singgah germany ;p thanks Encik MARA!
Just 3 more weeks,hang on there ami!Okie,nak sambung report.
