Weaning off the breast

Masih tidak berjaya.Blame myself for not trying hard enough.But i just donot have the courage to see him pushing nenen away,which sudah jadi his bestfriends for more than 2 years now.Furthermore, there's really no concern if we continue,tak terpakssa lagi lah malas kan.Maybeit's not the time yet.I know that some babies just wean off themselves,tapi Muhriz still doesnot show any sign to do so.He'll ask for nenen
like lapan belas kali sehari kot;after bath,after eating,toys jatuh pastu sedih,fav cartoon finish pastu sedih,can't pull the drawer himself,hahhh like every hour mesti nak.It's more to his source of comfort now,but that's okay.I have tried putting off the feed by offering him something else to eat/drink or do tapi mana nak jalan.Offer bacekan book,end up bace buku sambil nenen =p
Sooner or later,it will happen.We both know it tapi dua2 degil!Last week somebody in the bfeeding group post an article(lupa tajuk) on condemning breastfeeding,ckp nursing mommies nie gile s*x(excuse the sentence).Ya Allah how could she!if you don't breastfeed your child,donot come out with something yg might hurt others.I think the reason she did that was to ease herself,so that she won't feel so bad.I'm not saying formula feed is bad,no,no jgn salah anggap.If that's your choice then go on,every parent follows her/his own parenting style.Tapi everyone must agrees yg breastfeeding is the best feed,itu mmg scientifically proven.If you fall halfway but you've tried,tak apa.But if you tak try pon tapi kutuk org bfeed anak,it's unacceptable.Haihh ape pon bertaubat lah,menyusukan anak ni disebut dlm Quran so lu pikir lah sendiri.Babaii

Nurse in public.masih saya amalkan :)

Ni time beli grocery di Tesco,ada org mengantok sgt nak nenen there and there tak sempat nak gi nursing room.So cari area macam kurang orang sikit.Sebab tue nursing cover mmg tak boleh tinggal :) Tapi nie nasib baik he was so mengantok that he didnot bother to selak2 cover tue,kalau tak mmg tak berapa berani sekarang ni nak nenen in public nie Some passers by macam tgk2 but i just ignored them,they probably pelik kenapa saya cover anak sampai sebegitu.I was pretty sure tak ada free show sebab mmg pakai nursing blouse,tutup pula dgn nursing cover,so insyaAllah lah selamat hehe.Once kesayangan dah lena,baru boleh tunjuk muka kan?

Breastfeed is the best feed: Mission accomplished

Since Muhriz dah 2yrs and 2 day,boleh ke kira extended bfeeding dah?haha

Alhamdulillah Allah granted my wish yg satu nie,nak breastfeed muhriz for at least 2 years.Maybe diberi peluang utk jadi a stay at home mama memudahkan,maybe la kan.tapi i should be proud of myself too sebab bersungguh nak kasi breastmilk saja.

Ingat nak wean off tapi tak sampai hati,mama yg over i know.Rasanya only nursing mommies akan faham,the emotional attachment and bond develop along the journey is just amazing.Huhu ingat during his early days,which is the most critical period rasanya,period yg kite kene hang on kalau betul2 nak susukan anak.Awal2 tak mudah;tak pandai nak latch,pastu Muhriz sakit perut sebab mama makan jamu,makan itu ini.Then sekali nenen kadang sampai sejam tersengguk2 mama.Pastu ada record book utk tulis waktu pumping,amount etc.Dada tugas die basuh breastpump and storage bottles,every morning itu lah kerjanya kekeke.Then we got the hang of it,dah jadi macam 2nd nature for us,senang cite kalau nak nenen,mama boleh selak2 sambil bace buku ke makan ke kekeke.Glad we made it through baby!

I love getting close with Muhriz while nursing,masa nenen main rambut,korek hidung mama,korek telinga hehe.Sengih sengih,nenen sambil bercakap.Kalau nurse to sleep lagi lah,tido kaki tangan peluk mama.Since he sleeps in between me and hubby,kadang tangan kiri die korek mata mama,tangan kanan tarik janggut hubby.

So all of us need time to adjust,hubby pon mesti la kan nanti malam2 die kene bgn buat susu huhu.Sedih weh nak cerai susu ni orang kata.Buat slow slow la kot jadi ingat nak introduce fresh milk for him dulu maybe 1 cup a day ke.I would like to go with fresh milk first instead of formula.Why?Mmg la iklan formula milk nie kedegang kedugung ada DHA,Gangliosides and what not,tapi don't worry those nutrients we believe should be suffice from breastmilk and food intake.So pemakanan mama and Muhriz kena jaga.Since kenit nie mmg dirumah dijaga dgn rapi penuh kasih sayang oleh mama duploh pat jam insyaAllah terkawal.Formula milk sekarang macam2 from murah to mahal,semua claim itu dan ini.Kalau beli yg murah ada yg rasa guilty anak tak cukup khasiat,hahh kalau anak itu dibagi susu ibu kan tiada masalah.Tapi ada masalah juga,my son is one picky eater remember?One day boleh boleh habiskan nasi or pasta,the next day tamau makan anything else except chicken bites.So tgk la macamane,try dulu kasi fresh milk.

Kalau boleh next child pon nak fully breastfeed for 2 years juga.Kene set mind awal awal,sebab breastfeeding is learned and you need to work for it.Bukan senang2 je nak selak menyelak nie kan mommies?hui hui

Nursing in public,what say you?

Muhriz still doesnot drink from a bottle,hanya nenen mama dan cup(for water).So mama mmg lah bottle susu die tak boleh tinggal nih.I've been nursing him everywhere,whenever he wants to nurse,he gets to nurse.We've nursed between the store isles,in the restaurants,in the park,in the ferry to Langkawi,in the planes,hehh basically merata rata lah.I've started to nurse Muhriz in public from the time we've started going out(he was 2mths+).Received a few stares from makcik2 but hubby did his job to cover me dan jeling makcik tue semula kah kah.

So,been practising this myself,of course i akan support nursing in public for as long as you can keep everything perfectly covered.Mesti cover.If you're not confident,then it's ok,sekarang byk baby's room dah or kalau terpaksa,i'll look out for a changing room.Pernah nampak "free show" di R&R,this mother tak ade attempt pon nak cover,just selak there and then nampak habis adeii,even saya sendiri pon malu tertengok.Ada juga yg tanya,pernah terfikir ke ape other guys(especially unmarried ones) pikir bila nampak kite susukan anak?So i asked hubby,mesti lah die ckp it's not a problem.He's with me when it comes to breastfeeding hehe.Drinking from mommy's is one of the most natural things a baby does,so i tanye my brother(a doctor) pulak.pon takde problem lah sebab die mmg support breastfeeding.Me?I personally think as long as you cover perfectly,nursing your child in public is a legal business and what other think should be the least of your worries

Sekarang Muhriz dah tak selesa lying under the nursing hider while doing his business,suka selak2.So saya prefer to rush to the baby's room atau tunggu masuk kereta.Tapi tgk keadaan,kalau terpaksa jugak still lah nenen dimana2 so wearing an easy-to nurse blouse adalah sgt helpful.In the mean time offer lah him something else,so snack mmg wajib ada dlm baby bag die.Kang tak pasal ade free show.Tapii kids nie busy explorers i tell you,kalau masuk nursing room,die busy nak explore situ pulak,bukan nak nenen pon -_- So mommies,don't let your lactating breasts keep you at home,have fun outside and breastfeed!hiks

Confession of a nursing mama

Breastfeeding is beautiful and i've spent this 2 years of motherhood focusing on being the source of milk for Muhriz.Once you're into it,you might become so passionate about it that you will feel it completes you as a mother.I love nursing my baby but let me tell ya the truth,mmg ada part yg annoying.

I was reading an article on babycenter about this,and the writer had exactly what on my mind!especially on these 2

1. That feeling of itchy fullness when you’ve been away from your baby.

I've never been away from Muhriz,tak pernah.Pegi saloon pon angkut sekali.Breasts work on supply vs demand basis,so kalau baby Muhriz tido lamaaa without waking up to nurse,there goes my tanks jadi macam bomb nak meletup!So i have to wake him up,no other choice since i dah stop pump.At home ok lagi lah,tapi kalau masa outing?Basah baju huhu.

2. Once your baby gets a little older and more mobile, they like to view their world with a nipple between their teeth. Macam nie!

Aaa betul sgt!Muhriz dlm sejam mesti minta nenen.So imagine,mulut ada nenen,pusing kiri kanan nak tgk  tv,kaki tendang toys.He just loves to abuse my nipples by jerking right,left,down,up sambil nenen.recently,mulut ada nenen,tapi die nak bercakap ok,sakittt.

Hahaha tapi still,i love every part of it.Especially the sight of a sleeping Muhriz by my breasts.And the bond is a blessing though at times i wish his dada boleh replace kejap mama nak gi spa.Sgt syukur supply is abundant.Kalau Allah izinkan next ones pon nak bagi susu mama juga!
