Finished my first knitting project!

And it's a scarf!
Hubby took a day off from lab today.While he was busy with Windows7 and Modern Warfare2, i took my own sweet time to finish up the scarf while watching the Bride War.Hubby did not even bother about the movie,he went away after 20 seconds.mmg lah,dah agak dah.
i started to knit religiously on tuesday,took a break over the weekend and finished it off today.This scarf is 1.5m,so ok la kan?But to get to use to it and pick up the speed was not easy.Casting on was ok,but knitting the stitch was really disappointing initially that i almost gave up.The row was tight and it was so hard to move the needles :( .Anyway,i've started to love this.nak muntah dah asyik tv and internet jer huhu.

Malaysia,here i come!

Euro780 for a one way ticket.Overly priced but they give me no other options.Malaysia Airlines or no claim!haihh habis tak bleh shopping doh.yerp,i'm going to celebrate the arrival of 20-10 with a 12-hrs journey on MH5+ 3hrs on ICE(Augsburg-Frankfurt).Na,i know you read this,nanti balik ami nok jupo tau!

My nephew(age 11) left a comment on my Wall.Do you think this is not cute?Nie sorang baru.I have 2+4 others.Munchkins can be annoying especially when they team up to turn Tok Wan's(my father's) house upside down.But being cheeky makes them adorable,rindunya.I've been an aunty since 9 years young so basically i grow up with them hehe.The eldest niece is going to sit for SPM this year.I called her few weeks back when she just came back from the DS(dining hall),mkn macaroni for supper.Dahsyat ek budak MRSM sekarang,my time dulu mkn biscuit je.

ME: niece,cimie nak balik nie.anything u want?
NIECE: yeayyy,nak2.cik mie,bleh check satu bende for me?
ME: ok,apa?
NIECE:LAMB
ME:ape dia?spell for me please.
NIECE:L-A-M-B
ME: a LAMB?you want a LAMB?
NIECE: Laa cimie nie,GWEN's label tueeeee.i want a handbag.tolong yeahh byeeee.

Yeay can't wait to see everyone at home but i'm getting worried too.Who's gonna feed hubby-cum-my-guineapig for that 1.5 months(hopefully,not more)? sobsob.

My knitted scarf is almost done,which explain the absence of entry for the past few days.

Our weekend

Alhamdulillah,hari tue hubby recovered by thursday.Sempat la kitorang pegi makan2 on friday.I brought 20 pcs of fruit tartlet.Ignore the messy decoration ;p.makan2 start @7pm,530pm baru nak buat tart,bijak kan?Host masak nasik ayam sedap and lepas makan kene paksa tgk this horror movie "Orphan",balik rumah at 12am,udah la foggy mlm tue,takot giler,3 mlm dok mimpi tau hahaha

Since hubby dah sehat,kite makan yg kureng sehat ok dek?Enough with porridge and soup ;p

Chicken Schnitzel,Backkartoffel,Coleslaw
Deutsches Essen: Wuerst,Backkartoffel(again;p) und Turkey Ham
Nasi goreng with Roasted Chicken,telur mata and sambal gorengApple and Lemon cake. I never thought apple goes so well with lemon until i tried this,hubby pon suka.

Fruit Tartlet and Strawberry Cheese Tart

Recipe nie ami copy from EncikMat,tiru sebijik ;p
For the pastry,i've tried both recipes,sama ja,due2 pon ok ;)

Pastry 1
Ingredients
200 g mentega
100 g gula aising
1 camca teh esen vanilla
1 biji telur
420 g tepung gandum

Directions
Putar mentega, esen vanilla dan gula hingga rata (tak payah kembang), masukkan telur dan putar sekejap, perlahankan speed, masukkan tepung sedikit demi sedikit hingga habis dan adunan menjadi doh. Bulatkan, tutup dengan plastic cling, sejukkan for 10-15 mins. Ambil doh,canai nipis antara 2 lapisan plastik, doh mesti lebih lebar dari acuan tat. Buka satu lapisan plastik, terbalikkan ke dalam acuan tat tadi. Ratakan, dan tarik keluar plastik. Kemaskan doh, cucuk permukaannya dengan garfu dan alas dengan aluminium foil, isi kekacang dan bakar 15 minit pada suhu 190C . Kemudian angkat keluar aluminium foil tadi, sambung bakar 5 minit lagi.

Pastry 2
Ingredients
125 g mentega sejuk, didadu kecil
40 g gula aising
1 biji telur, dipukul sedikit
220 g tepung
1 camca teh esen vanilla

Directions
Satukan tepung dan gula aising, gaul rata. Masukkan mentega dan esen vanilla, gaul ramas menggunakan hujung jari hingga adunan berupa serbuk roti, masukkan telur sedikit demi sedikit sambil diadun hingga menjadi doh yang lembut dan tidak melekat dimangkuk. Bulatkan doh, dinginkan 20 minit. Keluarkan doh dari peti sejuk, canai doh antara 2 keping plastik ,lebarnya biar melebihi acuan tat. Buka satu lapisan plastik tadi dan terbalikkan doh ke dalam acuan tat, kemaskan bahagian dalam dan tepinya. Tanggalkan plastik yang satu lagi tadi, kemaskan lebihan doh. Cucuk permukaan doh dengan garfu dan letakkan aluminium foil atasnya. Isi dgn benda berat (e.g kacang soya) sehingga penuh. Bakar dalam oven pasa suhu 175C selama 15 minit. Kemudian, angkat keluar aluminium foil bersama2 kekacang tadi dan bakar lagi 5 minit. Bila nampak sedikit perang, boleh keluarkan dari oven.

Note: ami tak letak kacang.mmg kembang la sket base tart tue ;p

Fruit Tartlet (Filling) 1 biji telur
30 g gula halus
20 g tepung kastard
100 g susu cair
100 g whipping cream
1/2 camca teh esen vanilla fruits(peach,kiwi,grapes,strawberry etc)

Satukan susu dan whipping cream, kacau rata dan masak hingga suam. Dalam bekas lain satukan telur, gula dan tepung kastard, kacau rata. Masukkan susu suam tadi dan kacau bancuhan hingga sebati. Tapis ke dalam mangkuk tahan panas. Masak secara double-boiler sambil terus mengacau hingga pekat. Masukkan esen vanilla, kacau rata. Paipkan krim kastard ke dalam pastri. Kemudian susun buah2an mengikut kreativiti masing2. Sapu dengan apricot glaze untuk nampak berkilat.

**Ok,i cheat,tak buat double boiler pon,malas ;p.


Strawberry Cheese Tart(Filling) 250 g cream cheese, pada suhu bilik
60 g gula halus (caster sugar)
20 g mentega
100 ml whipping cream emon
1 biji telur
Strawberry(or blueberry) filling

Pukul semua bahan2 untuk inti kecuali blueberry, hingga licin dan tidak berbintil2. Ketepikan.Tuang inti cream cheese ke dalam kulit tat yg telah dibakar tadi, sudu kan strawberry filling atas cream cheese, buat beberapa bahagian, gunakan pisau atau chostick, lorekkan supaya menjadi bentul seakan2 marble. Bakar kembali pada suhu 150c selama 10 - 15 minit atau hingga keju keras bila disentuh.

Poor hubby is down with colds today,blame on the weather!But winter is the running-nose season,there's nothing much we can do about it.

So for lunch org sakit nie,i buat rice porridge mkn dgn sambal ikan bilis(sambal getok?) and pickels .Org sakit bleh mkn pickels ke? ;p Bubur nasi paling best i penah mkn ialah dekat Akasia,Shah Alam best sgt sgt!Beehon soup for dinnerMy poor darling asked for the strawberry cheese tart again.I prepared everything and he helped to decorate the tarts.And the result.....

And presenting,my very first cheese tart ;p Hubby finished almost all the tarts himself so i assume he loves it :)

And for dinner,since there's still some Indian Mackerel and Vietnames cilantro(daun kesum),i decided to cook Asam Pedas.
I love fish and everything that comes from the sea but we rarely had them here.I mean,fresh whole fish and fresh seafood.Hubby on the other side,hate fish!Not that he dislikes the fishy taste,it's the bones that creeps him out.He's fine with salmon,tuna,fish and chips and of course fish finger on any day.Just do not give him one whole fish unless you're ready to pull the bones out piece by piece for him,eii geram betul,mat saleh sesat mane neh!And if he found one in his mouth,that's it,dinner is over!So semlm,i could not stop laughing seeing him constantly looking for bones even though i told him i'd already pulled all out hahaha.And guess what,he really found some while chewing so he gave up,and ended up with just rice and gravy,sorry dear!Next time i will make sure you have filleted fish ok?

Barcelona kah?

Yeayyy it's friday!Housewife pon tunggu weekend tauu ;p
I baked another cake semlm,choc moist.still tak deco ape2 sebab tak pandai plus hubby nak bawak bekal,so comot jugak kan masuk tupperware,cehh alasan. Next week ingat nak try apple+lemon cake,ok ke? Ayam masak lemak tue for dinner,MIL's recipe kene letak sedikit kerisik and hubby likes it that way,ikut saja lah. Ryanair was having 3 days promotion,so we got ourselves return tickets to as-the-title-says.The thing is,tak sure pon lagi boleh pegi ke tidak,since hubby's schedule is quite unpredictable.But I really really hope we can make it this time.Hari tue dah burn ticket to Glasgow.I sooo want to visit this city!There is a lot more to Barcelona than just Gaudi's masterpiece and other interesting architectures.It's getting colder towards end of the year so a quick escape to a warmer land is something to look for,even if it's just for a few days.So i hope the Spain's weather in December is what we expected,15 Celsius is definitely much better than 0 C and gray hued sky of Bavaria hoho.Those who have been to this city,care to share your tips?;)

Lunch: Mackerel Quiche. Nampak macam pizza kan?tak gune tart shell betul tadi. Tea: Carrot cake again.Kan hari tue terover baked,this time dah ok :)Dinner: Ayam masak serai+sayur campur

I assume some of you know my hub nie rakan KOP,that's what he called himself,so defeating MU buat die tido senyummmmmmmmm,happy all nite long, aman duniaa huhu!!So MU fans,jgn tension yer?I've been listening to Liverpool's story from hubby since 8 yrs ago,though i donot really follow what's going on,but i can recall almost all the players names and the FC songs, spouse pressure,kesian tak?The previous 3 matches haru biru,kesian si pinky ku asyik kene baling.So Mr Benitez,please tell you team to play super well again against Arsenal so that i boleh tido dgn aman k?Eh did i tell you that there's a 5ft Liverpool flag hanging next to our bed? Romantic kan? :(

Over the weekend,i tak masak langsung ;p,either mkn luar or hubby masak.Saturday went out for Sushi in Muenchen,dinner pulak @rumah baby naddy.everyone was there to kiss farewell to Baby Naddy and family,they were going back for good sob sob.We are still pretty unsure when is our turn but definitely masa tue baby Naddy dah pandai jalan ;p tatau la berapa kali dah i letak gambar Muenchen Rathaus nie,tapi letak saje la.

INGREDIENTS

• 1 cup warm milk
  
• 2 eggs
  
• 1/3 cup margarine, melted
• 4 1/2 cups bread flour
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup white sugar
• 2 1/2 teaspoons yeast
• 1 cup brown sugar **
  
• 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon**
• 1/3 cup butter, softened**

INGREDIENTS (Frosting)

• 1 package cream cheese
  
• 1/4 cup butter, softened
• 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  

DIRECTIONS

Place the bread ingredients except ** in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select dough cycle; press Start.

After the dough has doubled in size turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, cover and let rest for 10 minutes. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.

Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread dough with 1/3 cup butter and sprinkle evenly with sugar/cinnamon mixture. Roll up dough and cut into 12 rolls. Place rolls in a lightly greased baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. While rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Spread frosting on warm rolls before serving.
