Cuti Cuti Sabah part 4: Kinabalu Park & Kundasang War Memorial

After masak breakfast & bekal, En Azli,the car owner sampai hantar kereta.Berlegar sana sini,dgn dudu mengamok sebab kene bgn awal hihi,10am baru bertolak.Since dah bace dan dgr org bercerita,jalan from Kota Kinabalu to Kinabalu park nie agak challenging,mmg dah prepare mental dan physical lah hahaha.Sebelum nie sebab nie lah saya tanak ke area highland nie,takot Muhriz cranky dlm kereta.Mmg selalu lalu jalan Grik-Baling,yg actually kurang sikit dahsyat je dari jalan to Kinabalu Park nie,tapi lalu awal pagi,die still tido.Tapi kan,kite plan je,tgk tgk Allah mmg permudahkan urusan kami,si kecik nie mmg tido all the way,lepas Teluk Likas to Pekan Nabalu die pengsan!On the way balik pon macam tue juga hehe.

So from KK,you'll pass by Likas,Tuaran,Tamparuli jalan ok lagi.After Tamparuli nie,please be prepare,mmg jalan mendaki,very few lorong melintas,sharp corners on steep slope and no to mention drivers yg melintas where they shouldnot have.So please be extra careful.Owh by the way,tak singgah pon Tamparuli Suspension Bridge,sebab kesayangan tgh lena kan.After 1hrs and 15 mins,we reached Pekan Nabalu.Along the road tue mmg view sgt breathtaking,the first moment i saw Mount Kinabalu,i was like,MasyaAllah.....it's so ginormous!Besar sgt!Tapi masa tue dah around 11am+,so peak die mmg covered by cloud lah but that's ok,esok pagi ada lagi.Byw,according to Garmin,this pekan nabalu is only 8km to Kinabalu Park.Ada menara utk view the scenery tapi dgn super active kiddo nie mmg tak berani naik weh.Sini baanyak jual souveniers,tapi kitorang beli fridge magnets je and some fruits,nanas die dapp,manis!Dah jalan pusing2 nasib dah biasa kalau tak sure nak termuntah,makan nenas adalah relieving,try lah hehee.

Since it was not even 12pm,nak check in pon macam over awal pulak.Kinabalu Park entrance is just 300m from our chalet,so we decided to check it out.Paid RM3/person at the gate and you need to drive 4.5km to reach the Timpohon Gate,this is the starting point for the hikers.Dlm tue mmg takde apa lah,resort die adalah but other than that,mmg takde ape,view mount kinabalu lagi cantik dari tempat lain tapi ada satu viewing area,kitorang singgah jer. bergusti struggle dgn anak nak ambil gambar =p

Boring jugak kat situ,actually tak pegi pon takpe kot =p.12pm decided pegi balik ke chalet,tgk2 room dah ready so had a break,230pm baru keluar balik to Desa Cattle Dairy Farm,this one deserve a special entry because i so love this place,gambar paling byk kat sini ahahaha.

After Desa Cattle,we hurried to Kundasang War Memorial,senang je nak jumpa.If you're coming from Kinabalu Park,nanti akan sampai roundabout,dari situ dah nampak pekan Kundasang,take left exit,ada Alliance Bank,the memorial entrance is just next to it.Desa Cattle pulak on the same road juga tapi jalan je lagi few km nanti jumpa signboard.Sampai memorial dah hujan,dah la 430pm dah,masuk jugak la seround,fee is RM2/person.This memorial was built to honor 2300 British and Australian prisoners of war who died during the death march.Yes,only 6 survived the march and do you know how long they had to walk through the jungle,eating whatever they could find?Kalau tak silap dlm 200+km,from Ranau to Sandakan.It consists of 3 different gardens to represent 3 nationalities;English,Australia and Borneo(for the people of Borneo who help the POW).So kat sini bukan kubur,kubur diorang somewhere else,in Sandakan kot.

Keluar dari sini rasa lapar,teringat kak ila cakap ada chicken wings kat restaurant Hidayah,panas2 makan chicken wings best juga.My son makan bekal die lah,die nasi+telor dadar pon ok suka sgt.5pm dah rasa macam nak gelap,615pm dah maghrib huhu macam time winter lah pulak.Jadinya decide nak dinner after ishak(730pm) but little that we knew kedai sini tutup pukul 8mlm.So make sure kalau nak cari dinner keluar awal sikit,kitorang tu nasib baik kedai tue kesian kot,ambil jugak lah order.Lupa apa nama ke tue tapi depan masjid atas bukit tue ada 2 kedai halal,hidayah and this one.Balik dinner mmg pengsan terus so mmg lah balik chalet nak tido semata mata.Btw,at jresidence nie,not even tv1 dapat.But they provide you a few DVD player+DVDs,ada cartoon jugak.Tapi satu pon tak sempat tgk habis.
